Latvian cyclists use clever tactics to promote cycling

Latvian cyclists from the Let’s Bike It organisation celebrated International No Car Day last month by dressing their modifying their bicycles to resemble cars to show just how much space commuters waste when they travel to work in their car rather than on a bicycle.

To do this, cyclists on the streets of Riga hung colourful car-sized frames from their bicycles in order to show the general public just how unnecessary it is for one person to take up so much space on the road while travelling to work. They wanted to promote the use of bicycles on the streets in order to reduce traffic congestion in the Latvian capital.
