The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, along with the EURES Cross-Border Partnership, will host a cross-border Job Fair in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan on Thursday, 20th September, from 10am to 1pm.

The event, financially supported by the European Union Programme for Employment and Social Innovation, has been purposed for those in the north-east region in search of work or considering a career change. Over 190 job vacancies will be on offer across 15 different employers, in a range of sectors including: including manufacturing, construction, engineering, hospitality, sales, homecare and the food industry. Speaking about the upcoming event, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Regina Doherty said there will be ‘an opportunity to speak with employers who are actively recruiting on the day’, and talked about the success of previous job fairs held in the north-east.

As Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, said, this event is a fantastic showcase of the vacancies and opportunities available in the shared border region – Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Fermanagh. Jobs on offer include international opportunities throughout Europe. ABP Food Group, one of Europe’s leading privately owned food processor, is one of the few in attendance.

The job fair is an opportunity for jobseekers in Ireland to seek work in the wider European market and equally. It also provides jobseekers abroad with an opportunity to find work with companies based here in Ireland where such vacancies cannot be filled by jobseekers in Ireland.

The free event will also host one-to-one coaching clinics throughout the day providing tailored recruitment and CV preparation advice.
