Improving Streetscape with Longford Connected Project

Longford County Council thank the local community and businesses for their patience while the Longford Connected project works are ongoing.

Longford Connected will greatly improve the walkability of the town centre, helping everyone to more easily make their way around town. It will increase footfall and encourage greater activity and engagement, particularly with local traders.

Through enhancing Longford Town’s connectivity and accessibility, this wayfinding project will help to encourage future investment – acting as the spark for continued enhancement of our town.

Again, the Council would like to thank their traders and the public for their continued support the Longford Connected project.

Longford Connected works are happening at Market Square, Grafton Court and Longford Centre carpark. Works include improved surfaces, lighting, signage, street furniture, landscaping, improved accessibility for parking areas and connectivity between important places with Longford Town.

RPS Consulting Engineers Limited are the Project Managers and Designers for the project. The project is supported by the elected members of Longford County Council. Funding is through the Urban Regeneration Development Fund (URDF) under Project Ireland 2040 from the Government of Ireland and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Longford County Council is your council. At the centre of the local community, Longford County Council is the authority responsible for local government in County Longford. They are also as a provider of key public services.
Their vision is to make Longford the place to be – a destination of choice for people to live, to work and to visit.
