International Day for Biodiversity: Celebrating Dublin’s Biosphere in a Weekend of Events.

This Friday (22nd May) is International Biological Diversity Day – an annual UN-sanctioned event which is designed to celebrate the richness and diversity of our shared biosphere.  This year, the celebration is designed to stress how interconnected our fate is with that of our neighbors in the natural world, and Dublin City Park’s and Landscape Services Section have devised a series of events over the weekend to entertain and raise awareness.  These include a nature walk on the banks of the river Dodder, a guided cruise of Dublin Port, a series of talks, and a play for children in Harold’s Cross Park from 4.30 to 5pm.  You can find a full listing of events here.
