Kildare County Council’s Library Service has installed two story trails in Linear Park, Newbridge and along Carton Avenue in Maynooth. Launched by the Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr. Naoise O’Cearuil, the outdoor story walks are for everyone to enjoy. Follow the story boards from beginning to end, just like a book, reading as you walk with your family and friends.
Linear Park Story Trail
Dee the Bee is a beautiful book, all about pollination, written and illustrated by Dolores Keaveney. This book helps us to understand how important bees are to the natural world, by exploring the ways that bees help all the plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables in our gardens. You can pick up a little pollination present in Newbridge Library when you have finished reading the story trail.
Carton Avenue Story Trail
Geansaí Ottó is the story of fashion loving Ottó. Ottó also loves his Mamó who can’t stop knitting for her stylish grandson but her scratchy, woolly jumpers are not at all cool for stylish little Ottó. What is he going to do?
Dee the Bee, Geansaí Ottó and lots of other books are available for free to borrow in your local library in Kildare, the Kildare Library Story Trails were supported by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth as part of the First 5 Little Library initiative.
