Kilkenny County Council Festival Supports Grants Scheme 2023

Kilkenny County Council has provided supports through a grants scheme for festival organisers to aid with the development and promotion of festivals with a significant tourism impact.

The main purpose of the Festival Support Grants scheme is to support festivals which drive tourism in Kilkenny, underpinning Kilkenny County Council’s Tourism strategy and improving the visitor experience in Kilkenny city and county.

To be considered for funding, applicants will be asked to provide details demonstrating the following:

  1. Tourism Impact
  2. Visitor numbers / participation
  3. Organisational expertise
  4.  Future viability of event
  5.  Financial planning
  6. Access for All & Greening Initiatives

Application Forms to apply for the festival supports are available to download from here or can be obtained from the offices of Kilkenny County Council, Tourism Section, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.

Completed applications, together with supporting documentation, must be submitted by post to Martina Comerford, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny or by email to [email protected] no later than Wednesday 15th February at 5.00 p.m.

Kilkenny County Council was established with the passing of the Local Government Act 1898. The first elections were held in Kilkenny on Thursday 6th April 1899 and the historic first meeting of the Council took place on Saturday 22nd April 1899 in the Courthouse, Kilkenny.
