LEO Cork City invites Small Businesses to Brexit Information Session

Cork City Council’s Local Enterprise Office is inviting businesses in the micro enterprise sector to a practical Information Session in preparation for Brexit on Friday, 18th October, 09:30-11:30 in the Meetings & Events Centre, Clayton Hotel Silver Springs.

With Brexit fast approaching, this FREE session will explain Brexit using straight forward language including key related terms like ‘trading under WTO rules’, identify the most common risks posed by Brexit for the Irish micro business sector and how to deal with them.  It will also cover the extensive range of supports available through State agencies (many of them completely free) including the supports from the Local Enterprise Office. 

The session will include: 

  • An update on the current status of the Brexit process.
  • Explain key Brexit terminology like ‘trading under WTO rule’ and ‘The Backstop’
  • Identify the most common (obvious and less obvious) risks posed by Brexit for Irish businesses –  and how to deal with these.
  • Outline the range of supports available through State agencies like InterTradeIreland, Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) – there are considerable supports available and each support will be explained.

Following the seminar, the Brexit advisor will stay on at the venue until 13:00 to deal with any business specific confidential queries attendees may wish to discuss.
