Approval to build 102 new homes across Limerick has been granted following the meeting of the Metropolitan District of Limerick.
Plans were debated by councillors on Monday, 17th September, at the monthly meeting via the Part 8 procedure. The Part 8 procedure is followed when a development or project is progressed by the Local Authority and planning permission is applied for.
Three of four applications by Limerick County Council were unanimously agreed upon meaning 102 new homes will be built across Lower Carey’s Road, Kileely Road, Thomondgate, Clonmacken, Clondell Road, and Sycamore Avenue, Rathbane. The distribution of the developments throughout the city reflect location preferences by families in the area.
The announcement to progress with the development follows news that contracts with construction firm PBC Building Contractors have been signed, and construction of a new seven home development at Kilmurry Court, Garryowen is due to begin later this month.
