Mirr Tech Start-Up Podcast Featuring Jack O’Regan Kenny

In this week’s podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking to the co-founder of Mirr, Jack O’Regan Kenny.

As mentioned, Jack is the co-founder of the Irish tech startup Mirr, which has patented and developed a new touchscreen smart mirror. It looks like a reflective mirror, but has the full functionality of a tablet. Jack founded the company along with Alice Shaughnessy in 2019.

Jack was recently included in the Business Post’s ‘30 under 30’ list, showcasing the best of Ireland’s young tech entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the company was a finalist in this year’s ‘Student Entrepreneur Awards’.

In the podcast hosted by our Council editorial intern Ryan Harmon, Jack discusses the company’s journey while also balancing life as a student and young entrepreneur.

Jack discusses the range of benefits that the smart mirror offers, with the product mainly being aimed at the beauty market. Jack hopes that the product will be made available for sale before the end of the year and hints at the developments that are constantly being made to improve the product.

Furthermore, Jack explains the journey that the company has embarked on up until this point and the struggles of developing a new tech device in the middle of a global pandemic.

Finally, Jack discusses the challenges of being a young entrepreneur in Ireland, while highlighting the many supports made available through various start-up accelerators and programmes.
