Research Impacting Industry at Amplitude 2018

4 days, 19 hours, 38 minutes, and 48 seconds until the innovations of Amplitude 2018 impact industries across the country.

Amplitude is a collaborative effort by Waterford and Carlow IT to help industry understand the benefits academic research can have on their sectors. The event is the first of its kind in the South East and hosts a platform for discussion on future trends, the impact research has on industry, and how we can adopt future technologies to individual industries.

If you have a business idea, are a Start-Up, SME, or MNC Amplitude 2018 is your one-stop-shop. The conference welcomes speakers and academic experts to help attendees explore business opportunities and secure funding to allow their ideas to excel and grow. The event introduces the concept of collaborative relationships between businesses and research centres ‘with the goal of improving your company’.

Along with outlining funding opportunities for companies of all sizes, learning from the shared experiences of Amplitude’s speakers and industry leaders, research centres will present prototypes and ‘tech toys’ for companies to acquaint themselves with.

Speakers attending next week’s event include: Niamh Bushnell – Founder and CEO of TechIreland – Local Enterprise Office Representatives, Debbie Power – Country IoT Manager at Vodafone Ireland – and Marc O’Regan – Technologist and CTO of Dell EMC. Research centres featured at the conference on Wednesday will be: Rikon, Keltech, Horan Automation & Consulting, IWP. The Causeway Group, Teva, and many more.

Amplitude 2018 is being held on Wednesday 3rd October in the WIT Arena; the largest conference and events centre in the South-East. Tickets cost €25 but with the discount code ‘Amplitude10’, ticket prices are reduced by €10. This is a day-long conference running from 8:30am-3:00pm.
