Water supply to be restored shortly to those affected by burst water main on Cathedral Road

Cork City Council expects that residents and traders affected by a burst pipe on Cathedral Road should have their full water supply returned in the next hour or two.

Up to 19000 homes and premises were affected. Cork City Council and Irish Water have successfully diverted water supply around the leak to ensure supply this evening.

Road closures have been limited to the area between Lower Gerald Griffin Street and the North Cathedral.

City Council cleansing crews remain at the scene. We thank all for their patience
