WHOOP Accelerates Growth With Opening of Dublin Office

WHOOP has announced that its international expansion will begin with the opening of a Dublin office. The human performance company is set to open in Dublin, with more than 50 employees due to be in place by the end of 2022.

WHOOP is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

The past twelve months have been marked by rapid growth for WHOOP in membership numbers and additional product enhancements to its technology. The company recently announced that it raised $200 million in a Series F funding round at a $3.6 billion valuation led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2; and also launched their newest products; the WHOOP 4.0 and WHOOP Body.

Will Ahmed, WHOOP Founder and CEO, said, “Dublin is the ideal location for WHOOP to grow our global team. The city has a highly-skilled workforce which will allow us to further expand our international reach – not just in Ireland and Europe, but around the world.”

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar TD said, “I’m really pleased that WHOOP has chosen to locate its new international base in Dublin, with plans to fill 50 new roles by the end of 2022. Dublin is rightly regarded as one of Europe’s leading tech cities, and has much to offer innovative new companies like WHOOP. I wish the team the very best in this exciting new chapter in Ireland.”

We have ambitious expansion plans for international markets over the next number of years, and I’m looking forward to adding to our team and developing our base in Dublin to drive success.”

To date in 2021, WHOOP has hired 7 Ireland-based employees across the Marketing and Membership Services functions; and is currently recruiting with a view to growing their headcount across multiple business functions.

Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland said, “this decision by WHOOP to base its first International hub in Dublin, despite competition from other European locations, is a strong endorsement of our talented workforce and attractive business environment for fast growing companies.
