The 15 winning projects for South Dublin County Council’s 300k annual Have Your Say initiative have been announced.
Now in its second year, Have Your Say €300k is a local democratic process, allowing citizens in a local community to decide how to spend a portion of a public budget in their area.
For 2018, citizens from Clondalkin, Rathcoole and Newcastle were given direct power to determine how €300,000 will be spent to improve their locality.
The initiative is a continuation from a successful pilot project within the Lucan Electoral Area (Lucan, Adamstown and Palmerstown) last year.
Some 230 ideas were submitted by the public during the consultation phase with over 1,500 people from the area voting on a shortlist of 24 projects for what they would like to see funded and implemented in their communities.
