A Micro-mobility Q&A With Former TD Noel Rock

Noel Rock is a former Fine Gael politician who served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North-West constituency from 2016 to 2020. He previously served as Chair of the Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government from 2019 to 2020.

In this discussion, which was carried out (virtually) earlier this week, Noel along with one of our Council.ie representatives spoke about topics ranging from electric scooters to the implementation of more progressive forms of transport legislation.

Noel, who spoke candidly about the development of micro-mobility alluded to the fact that whether you love it or loathe it, this form of transport is here to stay. Noel who is undoubtedly an advocate of this type of development also stressed the need to create a dynamic set of rules to better the usage of E-scooters, E-bikes etc.

If you wish to learn more about this topic, please look to the link below for more information. Also, tweet us and have your say, should the Government pursue a more proactive approach to various forms of micro-mobility, or should these modes of transport be disensentavised?
