Warning To Bank Of Ireland Customers To Be Weary Of “Fraudster”

Last week, the Council Journal reported on an advertising scam publicised by Dublin Fire Brigade. Another scam is making the rounds, only this time it revolves around Bank of Ireland.

Bank of Ireland have issued a statement to its customers warning that a “fraudster” is claiming to be from the company.

A number of BOI customers have come forward to say they have received phone calls of this very nature.

A spokesperson said:

“A number of customers have told us that a fraudster has phoned them in the past few days pretending to be from Bank of Ireland.

“Please be careful, we will never phone and ask you to give us passwords or confidential information.”
