A dance school based in County Cork has created an utterly unique performance which showcases both the beauty of Ireland and their own incredible talents. Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance, based in Cork City, choreographed and performed the dance to mark Cruinniú na nÓg, a day which celebrates creativity, over the weekend.
Featuring 56 incredibly skilled dancers from the ages of six to 24, the video takes the viewer on a magnificent journey through Ireland’s famous Wild Atlantic Way, performing in 15 iconic Discovery Points all the way from Cork to Donegal.
Bray Head, The Old Head of Kinsale, Mizen Head, Derrigimlagh, Downpatrick Head and more all feature in the ballet performance, with the dedicated young performers dancing through sunshine and pouring rain all along the western coast.
The impressive video performance was recorded, photographed and edited by Karena Walsh, with choreography alongside Emma Gibbons and Maedhbh Loingsigh, and the music– the famous A Song For Ireland— was re-recorded by Abby Ní Loingsigh and Stephen O’Dea.
Releasing the video on Friday last, a spokesperson for Joan Denise Moriarty School of dance thanked everyone involved in creating the video, including the dancers and their parents who made this video possible, and the venues along the famous coastal drive who allowed them to record.
“We hope you enjoy our video of Ireland and all its beauty,” they wrote.
