Launch Of Public Participation Network Limerick Strategic Plan 2024-2029

The Public Participation Network Limerick (PPNL) were delighted to launch their 5 year Strategic Plan; which was adopted at their end of year Plenary metting.

This strategy will guide the priorities, vision and workplans of Public Participation Network Limerick in the years to come. It will ensure that the voices of all Member Groups are heard and that we will increase our influence in policy decisions at local government level. This strategic plan will help us guide our work and training plans over the next 4 years

The Vision of the Public Participation Network Limerick is that it will remain an effective link through which Limerick City and County Council connects with the community and voluntary sector and vice versa and a route for member groups to receive information regarding capacity building, funding, and consultation opportunities.

Launching the plan Seamus O’Connor, Senior Social Worker, Community Development at Limerick City and County Council stated, “I congratulate PPN Limerick on the development of their Strategic Plan and acknowledge the important work completed in the community/ voluntary and environmental sector in Limerick.”

Current PPN Limerick Facilitator Patrick Fitzgerald added, “PPN Limerick represents 200 Member groups across the Community, Social Inclusion and Environmental sectors in Limerick City and County. This Strategic Plan lays out PPNL’s commitment to our guiding principles of Participation, Good Governance and Inclusivity.”

Lorraine Broderick, Resource Worker for PPN Limerick said, “this Strategic Plan will be an essential reference for myself and the Secretariat going forward. We consulted extensively with our member groups during its development and look forward to having a robust document supporting us in our planning of activities and supporting our Representatives sitting on Council Committees.”
