Jamie launched Too Good To Go in 2016 and had the pleasure to watch it grow from a bunch of passionate entrepreneurs wanting to make a difference to a team of 750+ talented waste warriors with a strong vision and mission for the planet.
The mission of the company is to make sure good food gets eaten, not wasted. Every day, fresh food goes to waste at cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops and manufacturers – just because it hasn’t sold in time. The company’s app lets customers buy and collect Surprise Bags of this food directly from businesses at a great price.
Jamie highlights how fighting food waste is the best solution to curb the effects of climate change and given that we are in climate emergency, the answer really is that straight forward. Globally, more than ⅓ of food is wasted and that’s bad news for our planet, and Jamie explains how the company is making a difference in fifteen countries wordwide.
Furthermore, Jamie discusses how the company’s app works, allowing customers to rescue delicious, unsold food from businesses to save it from going to waste. In turn, the app powers the efforts to build an anti-food waste movement.
