Lupa’s Move For Mindfulness Week in Aid of The Samaritans

From March 21st – 27th, The Mindful Running & Walking App, Lupa, are encouraging people to get active in support of the Samaritans Mental Health Charity.

During their Move For Mindfulness Week, for every run or walk you record using the free Lupa app, £1/€1 will be donated to the Samaritans on your behalf so that while you support yourself with mindful movement, you are supporting others to receive the mental health care they need.

The Samaritan’s 20,000 volunteers answer over 10,000 calls every day to support people in dark places to find better times again. With the increased levels of mental health issues in the last two years, their work is valued more than ever. By taking part in #MoveForMindfulness Week, you can help them to do this for more and more people.

Mindfulness Teacher and Ecosystem Development Lead at Lupa, Conor Stone, gave us some background to the Move For Mindfulness Week initiative, saying, “we have developed Lupa with mental health and mindfulness at its core. We believe that movement is the key that can unlock so many positive elements for our mental health. We are hoping that this week can encourage more people to get active and discover the magic of mindful movement, all while raising money for a special cause in the Samaritans.”

Lupa are asking people to support the cause by downloading the app for free here, using its simple guided experiences or simple tracking feature to record their runs and walks, and to spread the word on social media platforms.
