Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste today launched the 7th Annual ‘Team Dublin Clean-up’ which is taking place on Saturday, 27th April 2024 from 11am and 1pm.
Team Dublin Clean-up encourages residents, community groups, businesses and environmental groups in Dublin to come out and support clean-up events in their local area. Dublin City Council’s, Waste Management Services will provide clean-up equipment and will collect and dispose of all litter collected by the groups.
Speaking at the launch, the Lord Mayor said, “I encourage everyone to get involved in this year’s Team Dublin Clean-up. Groups across the city carry out huge efforts throughout the year to make their areas clean, attractive and beautiful places to live and visit. This is an opportunity to coordinate these efforts on one day to showcase the great work being carried out across the city. If we each do a little, we will achieve a lot. Ní neart go cur le chéile.”
Litter Prevention Officer, Bernie Lillis said, “I have been working with the Team Dublin Clean-up 2024 and am particularly excited about this year’s clean-up as groups are encouraged to identify particular black spots to clean and work together with the area office staff to arrange to enhance the area. So, I’m asking people to roll up their sleeves and make this year the biggest and most impactful clean-up to date so that we can bring pride back to our beautiful city. Together we can make Dublin clean and green.”
All groups taking part will be entered into the Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition and will be in with a chance to win €1,000 for their community.
