YUKÕ Toyota Car Club launches in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Irish car sharing company YUKÕ, in partnership with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, has launched its’ car club operation in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. All the cars supplied on the YUKÕ fleet are self-charging hybrid automatic vehicles. As part of the initial 4-month agreement, cars will be available on the following streets:Crofton Road x 2, Carmanhall Road, Heather Road, Ballymoss Road, Sandyford Road car park near the Dundrum Town Centre. 

Toyota Motor Corporation chose Dublin as its global launch city for carsharing in 2016 starting with 25 vehicles. Since then, the car sharing service has grown to 5,000 members in Dublin and now has 75 vehicles increasing to 135 this year and with ambitious plans to expand this service up to at least 2022. YUKÕ is a 100% Irish owned and powered by Toyota Ireland. 

YUKÕ Toyota Car Club mobile app

YUKÕ Toyota Car Club members can book cars via a mobile app and can book cars by the hour, day or week, with fuel and insurance included. Signing up is free and there are no monthly subscription fees for users. Those who are using the service can also avail of free on-street parking in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.  

An Cathaoirleach of dlr, Councillor Una Power, said,

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council welcomes YUKÕ Toyota to the car share market in the County and we look forward to the service expanding over time. Car sharing offers residents smarter travel choices by allowing for less dependency on car ownership”.
