Digital Business Ireland, the country’s leading representative body for online and digital businesses has announced the launch of its annual female mentoring initiative. The initiative is being supported by former Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, who will be providing four one-to-one mentoring sessions with the selected applicant. Applications can be made through the representative body’s website.
The initiative invites applications from women working across digital, e-commerce and technology, who are on the cusp of taking the next step in their careers. Mentoring is a crucial lever that women can activate, and this latest campaign is part of a number of activities being announced by Digital Business Ireland – which includes a partnership with the female-led business membership organisation, Guaranteed Irish. In addition, Digital Business Ireland has also published its annual eBook which profiles some of Ireland’s most prominent female digital leaders.
Since its establishment in 2019, Digital Business Ireland has worked to provide crucial learning and networking opportunities for women working across the digital, ecommerce and technology sectors. The representative body also works in tandem with its 6,000 strong membership to offer support and advocacy through various initiatives. This year’s female mentoring initiative is the second iteration, following the success of last year’s campaign, in which female entrepreneur Michele Ryan of Market Street received one-to-one mentoring support.
Secretary General of Digital Business Ireland, Lorraine Higgins said, “I am very pleased to be launching the second iteration of our female mentoring initiative. Last year’s campaign generated an overwhelmingly positive response, and so this year, we were keen to incorporate the initiative to coincide with the launch of our latest partnership with Guaranteed Irish, the publication of our annual IWD eBook, among other plans.”
