Mayo County Council Announces Significant Advance In Its Housing Delivery Programme

Mayo County Council is delighted to announce that the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has approved the tender for the construction of 50 houses in Westport to advance its housing delivery programme. The development will cost over €14 m and will include the construction of 14 two beds and 36 three beds houses. Construction will commence in the 4thquarter of 2022 with completion expected by the end of 2024.

Cork County Council And We Are Riley To Make Period Products Free In Public Libraries

Cork County Council Library and Arts Service has launched a pilot initiative that will see free period products made available across its network of 29 branches and mobile libraries. The eco-friendly period products are being provided by Cork-based start-up We Are Riley.

New ‘Ready To Build’ Scheme Announced

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, and the Minister of State with responsibility for Local Government and Planning, Peter Burke, have announced the ‘Ready to Build’ Scheme. The scheme, which will be funded under the Croí Cónaithe (Towns) Fund, will see local authorities make available serviced sites in towns and villages across the country at discounted rates for individual purchasers who wish to build their own home.

The Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown is set to host a key round of the 2022-2023 UCI Cyclocross World Cup on December 11th. It will be the 9th round in a total of 14 events, starting on October 9th in Waterloo, USA.
